 Humanity Before Vanity:

 

My philosophy is to offer a stress free grooming experience for your dog. While I pay the utmost attention to all dogs in my care, I will pay special attention to my geriatric dogs and those with other health issues. Your pet’s safety and comfort is my first priority.

 

I will not perform any grooming procedure that causes pain or a level of stress that is excessive. This may include nail trimming in some situations.

Senior pets will be groomed for cleanliness and comfort.  

 

 

Medical History:

 

You, the dog owner, must advise me of any medical, physical, emotional issues, allergies, sensitivities or preexisting conditions. These may include food or shampoo allergies,  prior surgeries, heart issues, hip or joint issues, seizures, stroke, dementia or senility, warts, moles, skin tags, and other skin conditions or ear infections.

For my part, I will alert you to any issues I may discover over the course of grooming that may require vet attention. 

 

 

Pets Behavior:  

If your dog has behavior issues I need to be made aware of them before the appointment is booked. This is for both for my safety and your pet’s. If I arrive at your home and the dog cannot be groomed our minimum fee of $65 fee will apply.

There’s No Place Like Home Mobile Pet Spa reserves the right to refuse service at our discretion.

 

Scheduling and Routing:

Our service area is divided into zones. We service a certain zone each day of the week. Due to our unique business, we work on a routed system. That means you have to commit to a monthly or six week schedule for the year. Because we work on a routed system, and each of our clients commit to a yearly schedule, there may not be availability in your area until something changes. We are happy to take your information and keep it on our waiting list. As soon as an opening come available in your zone, we will contact you and set up your schedule. 

 

 Arrival Times/Window:

Appointment times have a half an hour window.  I will arrive as close to the scheduled appointment window as possible, however sometimes situations arise that disrupt my daily schedule. This includes weather, mechanical difficulties, spending more time with older, younger, or more difficult dogs. ​I will contact and advise you of the new arrival time when the schedule changes beyond my control. ​The dog’s safety will never be compromised by rushing to meet a schedule. 

Please make sure that your dog has been given the chance to relieve themselves 15 minutes prior to our arrival. This is especially important for puppies, seniors and during inclimate weather.

 

Latch Key:

To make scheduling and routing easier and more convenient we do offer latch key service.

I am happy to keep a key to your home, which will be kept in a locked box and labeled with your pet’s name to avoid any risk of unauthorized use. I can also access your pet through a garage door if supplied with an entry code. Inside the house the dog should be confined to a crate, a single level of your home or single room.

Merely closing bedroom doors is enough to ensure me access to the dog in most cases. 

Pricing: 

 

Price is determined by breed, size, condition of your pets coat, and the time it takes to complete the grooming process. Additional charges may apply for dematting, excessive coat, and flea treatment due to the additional time it takes. Additional charges may apply due to the dog’s temperament and behavior during the groom.

Bath service pricing starts at $65 for small dogs e.g. Pugs, Chihuahua.

Full grooming pricing starts at $85 for small dogs e.g. Shih Tzu, Bichon, etc. 

 

 Matting:

If you would like your matted pet brushed out, dematting fees are $1.00 per minute. If your pet cannot be humanely dematted, I will ask permission to clip the hair as short as necessary. As a matted coat can cause numerous health conditions including itching, irritation and skin infections. Removing a heavily matted coat includes the risk of nicks, cuts or abrasions due to warts, moles and skin folds trapped and hidden in the mats. Heavy matting can also trap moisture near the pet’s skin allowing fungus or bacteria to grow causing skin irritations that exist prior to the grooming process. I take the utmost care and caution when grooming a matted dog to avoid these injuries. If injuries occur, they are beyond my control.

If you do not wish for your pet to be clipped down I will return your pet to you so that you can work on removing the matting and we can reschedule for a later time. Charges will apply for the time spent with your pet

 

There’s No Place Like Home Mobile Pet Spa is not responsible for any preexisting conditions or injuries to the pet that are due to a matted coat. 

 

 Rabies Vaccine:

There’s No Place Like Home Mobile Pet Spa will not groom any dog that is not up to date on their rabies vaccination. It is acceptable to receive verbal confirmation of vaccination history from your vet at the appointment if necessary. I must talk to the vet, vet tech, or receptionist after you place the call. If you cannot provide proof of vaccination upon arrival the minimum fee of $65 will apply and must be paid before I can reschedule your appointment

 

 

 Cancellation Policy:

There’s No Place Like Home Mobile Pet Spa requires at least 48 hours notice to change or cancel your appointment. Failure to call 48 hours in advance may result in a minimum charge of $65, or up to the full groom price if this is a frequent occurrence. Fees must be paid prior to booking your next grooming appointment.

Giving advance notice allows me to fill your grooming slot and rearrange my schedule.

I do understand that emergencies happen and application of the fee is at my discretion. However, if I show up at your home and no one is there to give me access to your pet, or if prior arrangements have not been made, our minimum fee of $65 will be assessed.

 

 

 Automated Scheduling App:

 

I have started using an application to automate the booking and reminder process. When the appointment is first booked you will receive an automated confirmation via text,or  email depending on your  preference.The messages will come from a 618 number. A reminder will be sent two days prior to your pets appointment, with the option to contact me if changes need to be made.

 

You must reply Y to confirm or N to cancel your appointment. Failure to reply causes your appointment to not be added to the route for the day.

 

If you have any questions please contact me via 443-538-7785. I do not receive messages via the automated app.

In addition to sending confirmations our grooming agreement will also be sent via the app. If you have a smart phone you are able to sign right on your screen and it will be sent back. If you are unable to sign via your phone we can email you a copy to print and sign or we will have copies available.

 Payment:

Full payment is due upon completion of the groom. I accept cash, checks and credit cards.

A 3% service charge may be applied for swiped cards and 4% to pay via electronic invoicing.

Checks should be made out to; There’s No Place Like Home Mobile Pet Spa.

You are responsible for any fees incurred for returned checks.

 

 Inclimate weather:  

 

While we try our best not to get off schedule sometimes mother nature has the upper hand. Our high-top mobile spa does not do well in extremely high winds and depending on our route (e.g. high bridges, highways, etc) we may be forced to postpone or reschedule appointments.

 

During the winter months when there is snow or ice we follow school closings and will reschedule on our next available day off (Saturday or Sunday) to keep everyone on route and within their regular grooming schedule. 

Please make sure that in the event of snow or ice that there is a clear and ice free place for us to park. 

 

 

There's No Place Like Home Mobile Pet Spa  caters to small dogs that are under 40 pounds, who are maintained on a regular grooming schedule of 4 or 6 weeks.  
 
Our service area includes all cities in Howard County, the 21228 zip code in Catonsville  and to military families on post at Ft. Meade.

Last appointment is taken at 3:00 pm

Most appointments take about hour to an hour and half to complete.
